CT Calcium Scoring At Qscan

05/05/2017

Did you know that each year Heart Week shines a spotlight on Australia’s heart health? This year Heart Week runs from Sunday 30th April to Saturday 6th May 2017.

At Qscan, we understand the importance of heart health, that is why we would like to highlight the importance and benefits of CT Calcium Scoring.  The CT calcium score measures the amount of calcium in the walls of your arteries which supply your heart muscle.  At Qscan, we use state-of-the-art CT to perform a non-invasive scan of your heart.  This examination shows the amount of hardening of your artery walls (a disease called atherosclerosis) which is then used to assess your risk of a heart attack or stroke in the next five to ten years.  The more calcium (and therefore the more atherosclerosis), the higher your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

Ask your doctor whether a coronary artery calcium score would be helpful for you.
