Mackay’s Very First PET-CT Centre Opening Soon

22/01/2018

With great pride, Qscan Radiology Clinics announces the upcoming opening of the very first PET-CT Centre in Mackay, Queensland.

PET-CT (Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography) facilitates early and more accurate detection of tumours, reducing the need for unnecessary surgery and increasing survival rates.

The latest scanner from Siemens has been chosen because of its unparalleled image quality, lowest radiation dose and optimised patient safety and comfort.   State-of-the-art technology reinforces Qscan’s reputation for excellence in imaging.  Our team at Qscan is continually striving to improve the level of service to our patients, referrers and the community.

PET-CT is a premium technology with very significant clinical benefits for early detection and staging a variety of cancers.  PET-CT can detect and monitor cancer and other diseases due to the significantly increased sensitivity and clarity of images.  It will also significantly improve the treatment and provide more accurate tumour detection, as well as reduce the need for unnecessary surgery.

All patients with Medicare eligible indications will be bulk billed, and scans interpreted by Qscan’s focussed team of highly trained subspecialty oncologic radiologists.
