Dr Hal Rice

Dr Hal Rice obtained his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1992 and then completed his internship and residency at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Hal trained in diagnostic radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital before undertaking a fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the Mt Sinai Medical Center in New York City in 2001 and 2002.

Since returning to Queensland Hal has been employed as a Neuroradiologist and Interventional Neuroradiologist at the Gold Coast Hospital. He also provides Interventional Neuroradiology services to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital as a visiting medical officer.

Hal has major academic interests in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, Head and Neck imaging, Musculoskeletal imaging and all fields of MRI. Hal is an accomplished speaker lecturing locally and internationally. He is actively involved in teaching medical students, allied health professionals, radiology trainees and other medial specialists.

Hal is also actively involved with the college of radiologists currently as a federal college council member. He is also a member of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Quality Use of Diagnostic Imaging (QUDI) and Queensland Radiologist branch committees.
