Dr Mark Hansen

Dr Mark Hansen completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1997, followed by internship and residency at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Mark completed his specialist training in Radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in 2005 and subsequently went on to complete multiple Fellowships in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane and the University of Toronto, Peter Munk Cardiac Centre in Canada.

In 2005 the Queensland branch of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists awarded Mark the Uhr Clarke bursary for achieving the highest results in the state for the college exams. Mark was also awarded the Travelling Fellowship prize from the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) to attend the ISMRM workshop on Real-Time MRI in Santa Monica 2006.

Mark has a keen research interest in the field of Cardiac CT and MRI and has had numerous publications accepted in several major journals to date. In addition he has presented numerous lectures in the area of cardiac imaging both locally and internationally.

Mark is presently a Consultant Radiologist at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane where he performs coronary CT and MRI of acquired and congenital heart disease and remains heavily involved in ongoing clinical research in the area of cardiac imaging. In addition to his focus on cardiac imaging Mark also has an interest in the area of thoracic imaging.
