Qscan Celebrates World Health Day

07/04/2017

Happy World Health Day!

Did you know that World Health Day is on the 7th of April every year? It marks the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and provides us with a unique opportunity to mobilise action around a specific health topic of concern to people all over the world.

We would like to contribute to this day by raising awareness of dental health.  At Qscan, we have OPG and Cone Beam services available that are used to assist in diagnosing fractures, a dislocated jaw, infections, tumors, dentition and also for surgical planning.

An OPG is a simple x-ray that provides the referring clinician with an overall view of the teeth for the upper and lower jaw on a single film. It is an excellent tool for diagnosing diseases of teeth and bone, and is generally done for most patients that require surgical, periodontal or dental treatment.  An OPG can demonstrate the position and growth of all the teeth including those that have not surfaced.

Cone Beam examinations however, are more detailed studies of the jaws, teeth and joints that are required for surgical procedures, implants, orthodontic treatment or diagnosing pathology.  A Cone Beam is a low dose CT that allows imaging of the jaws in 3-dimension.

We have multiple locations available for these services. Visit the link below to find your nearest clinic.
