Unfortunately, our preventative care services are not eligible for Medicare rebates. Our team will discuss the full cost of the service and available payment options with you when you make your booking.

Yes. To schedule one of our preventative care services, a valid referral from your doctor is required. Our team will review your referral, assist with booking the appointment and ensure you’re fully informed ahead of time.

Qscan Preventative Care is designed for individuals who are asymptomatic and seeking a proactive health assessment. It is not a substitute for diagnostic imaging when you’re experiencing symptoms. If you have any health concerns or symptoms, please consult your doctor for appropriate diagnostic investigation.

Unfortunately, this service is only suitable for patients aged 18 and over. We recommend considering alternative options for younger patients.

This service is not suitable for pregnant patients due to potential risks. We recommend deferring the service until after pregnancy to ensure your safety.

Your imaging results will be sent directly to your referring practitioner. We recommend scheduling a follow-up appointment with your doctor approximately two weeks after your preventive care service. This allows your GP time to review your report and plan the next steps with you.

Most images and reports will be available via our “Qscan Patient Results” app and web portal 7-14 days after your appointment.

Account activation steps:

  1. After your appointment, you will receive a secure link via SMS to activate your patient results account.
  2. Use your mobile phone number as your username.
  3. Verify your date of birth (this is a security measure to ensure the mobile number and DOB match).
  4. Set your own secure password when prompted.
  5. Download the Qscan Patient Results app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. The activation process will detect whether you’re on iOS or Android and guide you accordingly.
  6. Alternatively, you can access your results from a desktop, tablet or phone via our web portal at patient.qscan.com.au
  7. Once your account is activated, you will receive SMS or email notifications for all subsequent visits when your new images and reports become available.

If you haven't received an activation link within the expected timeframe, please verify that your mobile number and date of birth are accurate in our records, or contact our support team for assistance.

Please remember to always discuss your results with your referring practitioner.

After your scans are completed, our Radiologists will carefully review your images. In addition to detailed reports, you will receive an easy-to-understand health snapshot which summarises your findings and outlines next steps.


We encourage you to review your results with your referring practitioner, who can guide any follow-up, referrals or preventative health planning based on your results. 

This service is offered at Qscan Red Hill, Windsor, Clayfield and Carindale.

Scan duration may vary depending on the specific program and whether any additional services are required. When enquiring about preventative care services, our team can provide a more accurate timeframe based on your individual needs. 

Once everything is set up, a whole-body MRI scan typically takes 90 minutes.  

The whole-body MRI scan gives a comprehensive overview of the body to enable detection of solid tumours, cysts, brain aneurysms, some metabolic-related organ changes, and spinal and joint degeneration.

While whole-body MRI grants us the ability to image such extensive areas of the body however, by virtue of its broad nature, the scan is limited in its ability to detect fine detail.

As such, small tumours or aneurysms may not be detected, and detailed assessment of spinal and joint degeneration is limited. In addition, imaging of certain parts of the body, such as the prostate, breasts, and lungs, may require specific MRI protocols or other non-MRI imaging modalities in order to detect lesions; your doctor may refer you for these as part of your Preventative Care package, if required.

Yes. A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This ensures dedicated imaging time, equipment and clinical staff are reserved for your appointment. Payment of deposits will be subject to our cancellation policy.

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please let us know at least 2 business days in advance. Provided that you contact us within this time frame, we are happy to accommodate changes or refund your deposit. Cancellations or appointment changes made within 2 business days of your scheduled time will result in your deposit being forfeited.
