Please join us in celebrating International Day of Radiology and acknowledging all Radiologists and MRT’s across the Qscan network. Today, (8th November) we join our colleagues nationally and internationally in celebrating the founding of Radiology practice with the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen in 1895.
Over the last 123 years a lot has changed! While we may no longer recognise the equipment used or images generated, it remains that the technical skill and dedication to advancing patient outcomes that drove the Radiologists and MRT’s of the past are still very much cornerstones of what drives our profession daily.
By celebrating today we hope to alert the world to the stunning medical, scientific and even artistic possibilities of medical imaging, the essential role of Radiology clinical staff as parts of the healthcare team in countless medical scenarios, and the high educational and professional standards required of all staff working in medical imaging.
Teams are celebrating in a variety of ways across Qscan, so please join in and help us to acknowledge and thank our MRT’s and Radiologists.
For those interested in learning a bit more about the history of Radiology, IDoR and this year’s theme (Cardiac Imaging) the below link may help, or feel free to connect with one of the very knowledgeable professionals around the practice.
Again, a very happy #IDoR2018
