Dr Gus McKenzie

MBBS, FRANZCR

Dr Gus McKenzie (MBBS, FRANZCR) completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Griffith Medical School in 2010 and completed his Specialist training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 2018, based at the Gold Coast University Hospital. Gus then completed a subspecialty fellowship with Qscan in Body/Abdominal imaging and Musculoskeletal imaging in 2019. Prior to his MBBS and FRANZCR, Gus completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science in 2005, achieved first class honours in Exercise Physiology, and was awarded a Physiological Society’s Research grant (2006).

While Gus has an interest in many areas of Radiology his primary area of interest includes Body MRI and he takes part in several multidisciplinary team meetings in this area including surgical, gastrointestinal, and urology meetings. Gus also enjoys teaching Registrars and Body Fellows as part of his daily work.

Contrary to popular belief about Radiologists, Gus enjoys meeting patients and referrers and believes in a patient-centric approach to medicine, including Radiology. He is also not above the use of Dad jokes and has an unhealthy reliance on memes.
