Dr Kate Mahady

Dr Kate Mahady completed her radiology training in the UK and undertook diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology fellowships across London and in Brisbane. She was admitted to RANZCR in 2017 and has been a full time interventional and diagnostic neuroradiology consultant at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) since 2016.

Kate leads the 24/7 interventional neuroradiology (INR) service at RBWH and the Queensland Children’s Hospital. She is involved in training fellows and registrars, and regularly contributes to these hospitals’ diagnostic radiology, neuroradiology and general interventional services. She has provided hub/teleradiology reporting for Qscan since 2020.

Kate is a keen educator, having co-convened the ANZSNR ASM in 2021. She has taught locally, interstate, and internationally, providing medical, radiography, nursing, and other industry personnel with appropriate training. She is also conducts and is a supervisor for clinical research projects.

Kate is a co-chair of the Australian Stroke Clinical Registry (AuSCR), a member of the Queensland Statewide Stroke Clinical Network Committee and its paediatric sub-stream, and leads the interventional internship and INR fellowship programmes at RBWH.
