Dr Laetitia de Villiers (MBChB, FRANZCR) completed her specialist training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. She then undertook an advanced specialist fellowship first in General Interventional Radiology, including Hepatobiliary, Urological and Vascular Interventions, at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane in 2006/2007, followed by an advanced specialist fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the world famous Mt Sinai Medical Center in New York City in 2007/2008.

Laetitia obtained her medical degree at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and then completed her internship and residency at Tygerberg Hospital, Capetown. She has also worked in the United Kingdom and previously spent more than two years working as Medical Superintendent and sole General Practitioner in rural Queensland.

Since returning to Queensland after her fellowship in New York, Laetitia practiced as a Specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, in Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiology and general Interventional Radiology. She is currently a Staff Specialist at the Gold Coast Hospital, Southport, practicing in Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiology, which is now regarded as one of the premier sites in Australia for the endovascular treatment of life threatening brain aneurysms and acute ischaemic stroke. She also has a particular interest in and practices in general and Hepatobiliary Interventional Radiology.

Laetitia has major academic interests in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, Head and Neck Imaging, Hepatobiliary Imaging and Interventions and pain management as well as Computed Tomography (CT) and Ultrasound guided interventions and all fields of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). She is an accomplished speaker lecturing locally and internationally and is involved in teaching medical students, allied health professionals, radiology trainees as well as other medical specialists.

Laetitia is committed to providing the highest quality specialist diagnostic medical imaging and interventional service to all patients and referrers of Qscan Radiology Clinics. Laetitia is a host of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN) 13th world congress to be held on the Gold Coast in November 2015.
