Born in Melbourne, Theo relocated to Queensland after high school and graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011. He spent his intern and resident years at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He undertook radiology training at the Gold Coast University Hospital where he enjoyed the breadth of practice that radiology offers. He then relocated to Melbourne for nuclear medicine training, spending a year at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, which has a strong focus in nuclear cardiology, and a subsequent year at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre where he was able to gain experience with more novel radiotracers and theranostics. He has developed a particular interest in oncologic imaging and is currently undertaking a hybrid fellowship in body imaging with Qscan.
