Dr Jennifer Powell has been a member of the QScan team since 2017 when she undertook a musculoskeletal imaging fellowship which was completed in early 2018 under the supervision of the QScan musculoskeletal group.  Jennifer has also completed fellowships in paediatric and cardiac imaging and is accredited by the RANZCR joint committee in both cardiac CT and MRI.  Jennifer is employed part time as a Staff Specialist at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and is a dedicated member of the Queensland Paediatric Cardiac Service with special interest in paediatric coronary syndromes and congenital imaging.

Before embarking on a career in medicine Jennifer completed degrees in Arts and Science at the University of Queensland with majors in French, Spanish and Biomedical Science.  She maintains a strong research interest particularly in the setting of congenital cardiac conditions with recent publications on the use of vocal cord ultrasound in the post operative setting for cardiothoracic surgery and the use of transcranial ultrasound for the assessment of the circle of Willis in pre-operative cardiothoracic surgical patients.  Jennifer is passionate about teaching and training and has lectured widely across health disciplines.

When not working at QScan Jennifer enjoys painting and photography, travel, and hiking with her family.
