Dr Thomas Hess

Dr Thomas Hess (MBBS, FRANZCR) is currently employed as a Consultant Paediatric Radiologist at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital and is a Radiologist with Paediatric Subspecialty interest at Qscan Radiology Clinics.

Thomas completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Queensland in 1998 and Internship at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1999.

He went on to undertake his residency and registrar training at the Royal Free Hospital in London, Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. In 2003, Thomas was appointed to the Queensland Radiology Registrar Training Program and went on to complete his training to become a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists through the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

In 2007, Thomas traveled to Vancouver, Canada to complete a General Paediatric Radiology Fellowship at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital. The fellowship covered a range of paediatric radiology subspecialties including; Neuroimaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Body Imaging, Cardiac Imaging, Intervention Radiology, Neonatology, Paediatric Intensive Care, Oncology, and Emergency Medicine.

Thomas then returned to Australia where he was appointed to the position of Consultant Paediatric Radiologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Mater Children’s Hospital.  In 2014, Thomas successfully transitioned over to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital as a Consultant Paediatric Radiologist where he is currently employed.

Thomas is committed to providing the highest quality paediatric subspecialty and general radiology imaging service to all private and public hospital patients and all referrers of Qscan Radiology Clinics.
