Yes, we offer free on-site parking for all patients. Parking located directly beneath our clinic is free for the first 30 minutes, then charged at $2 per additional 30 minutes. As an alternative, undercover parking across the road at the shopping complex is free for up to 2 hours and may be more suitable for longer visits. Qscan Southport is centrally located with easy access from Ashmore, Labrador, and Main Beach and is also well-connected to public transport.
An MRI scan in Southport usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the area being scanned. Ultrasounds typically take 20–30 minutes. We’ll let you know the expected duration when you book.

Ultrasound
At Qscan Southport, we provide a full range of ultrasound services, all carried out by our experienced sonographers and reviewed by specialist radiologists. Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging technique that uses sound waves to capture real-time images of the body, without exposing patients to radiation. This makes it a great option for people of all ages, including children and pregnant women. Our services include:

I've been here several times for xrays and PET scans. The medical staff have been lovely and kind and looked after me well. Each procedure has been done efficiently and in a timely manner. I will not hesitate to return when I need another scan.

I have just completed my PET scan at Southport clinic. David introduced himself, with a smile, and asked me if I'd had a PET scan before. He explained the procedure. The care and understanding of a patients anxiety prior to a procedure was second to none. David made sure I understood each step of the procedure.
While waiting to move to the second stage, I was in a room with a recliner chair, warm blanket, TV. Post procedure, I was given a token to take next door to the coffee shop for Coffee/ toasted sandwich. What a wonderful experience. Thankyou Qscan.
Dr Vinicius (Vini) Carraro do Nascimento recently performed a nerve ablation procedure for severe nerve pain in my right leg and my husband and I cannot speak highly enough of him.
In 2018 I had surgery during which most likely may compressed the nerves in my right leg. Since then I’ve lived with ongoing nerve pain, particularly at night when the pain would turn into severe stabbing attacks that were almost unbearable.
For years the only way I could manage those attacks was by taking large doses of a strong nerve medication, which I knew was not a long-term solution. For the first time in years, I now have the opportunity to begin weaning off the medication I depended on to manage the pain. I’m so grateful.
Despite being extremely busy moving between procedures and clinics, Dr Vini still took the time to give me his full attention, check in often and treat me with genuine kindness and so much respect.
The nerve ablation treatment went very smoothly and for the first time in years I’m experiencing real relief. After living with this pain since 2018 the difference is extraordinary. I do understand that this procedure isn’t not a guarantee. Nerves can sometimes grow back and ‘repair’ themselves over time, so this procedure may not necessarily be a permanent solution. Even so, the relief has been so astounding that I’m glad we gave it a shot. I would happily undergo the procedure again in the future if needed.
Dr Carraro do Nascimento combines his real technical expertise with his authentic compassion for his patients and my husband and I are deeply thankful for the care and follow up he’s shown me.
