At Qscan Southport, we provide a full range of ultrasound services, all carried out by our experienced sonographers and reviewed by specialist radiologists. Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging technique that uses sound waves to capture real-time images of the body, without exposing patients to radiation. This makes it a great option for people of all ages, including children and pregnant women. Our services include:

Please note, ultrasound exams require both an appointment and a referral. We offer bulk billing for Medicare-eligible scans.

Nuclear Medicine

By tracking how the body processes radioactive tracers, nuclear medicine scans provide valuable insights into organ function and cellular activity. These tests are commonly used to investigate conditions affecting the skeleton, cardiovascular system, and endocrine glands.

Interventional Radiology

Procedures like joint injections, spinal interventions and biopsies are performed under imaging guidance to ensure accuracy. This approach, known as interventional radiology, allows for precise targeting with minimal disruption to surrounding tissue.

  • EUFLEXXA® injections, a form of interventional radiology help manage osteoarthritis pain in synovial joints, including the knees, hips, and shoulders.

EOS Spinal & Body Imaging

EOS imaging provides low-dose, full-body scans in a natural standing position, ideal for assessing spinal alignment and lower limb conditions. It captures both 2D and 3D images simultaneously, supporting accurate planning for orthopaedic and spinal care.

I have just completed my PET scan at Southport clinic. David introduced himself, with a smile, and asked me if I'd had a PET scan before. He explained the procedure. The care and understanding of a patients anxiety prior to a procedure was second to none. David made sure I understood each step of the procedure. While waiting to move to the second stage, I was in a room with a recliner chair, warm blanket, TV. Post procedure, I was given a token to take next door to the coffee shop for Coffee/ toasted sandwich. What a wonderful experience. Thankyou Qscan.

I would give this clinic a 10 out of 10. The entire team demonstrated exceptional warmth, knowledge and professionalism throughout my care. I felt supported, respected and genuinely looked after from start to finish. Their calm and compassionate approach made a challenging procedure feel far more manageable than I expected. I’m very grateful to everyone involved and would highly recommend this clinic.

My first visit here & I found the receptionists to be helpful & friendly, the radiographer couldn’t have been more caring & didnt rush me. The Dr giving my injection was the same. Very caring & informed me of what was to happen. Both introduced themselves immediately upon seeing me. A very professional group of people who still have warmth & kindness. I highly recommend this branch,

The staff in the clinic itself were absolutely lovely. My technician was hilarious and front of house staff were lovely. My issue is though that once again the booking agent booked the wrong scan. I drove two hours each way to come and do this scan and they were not able to do it. They just did another of the same scan I’ve already had. I am very disappointed by the bookings team. I waited a long time to get this appointment because she said it was a long scan and would need to be booked further ahead. Yet somehow still booked the wrong scan. Now to get the correct scan I need to be admitted but that isn’t possible before my follow up with the specialist. This is not about Southport staff this is not their fault - it is their bookings team. This happened to me about two years ago with Qscan as well. Booked the wrong scan despite me sending the form and reading the entire thing out to them. 7 hours today to not get anywhere and just redo a scan I’ve already had - doubling the radiation exposure.
