Dr Gavin Mackie (MBBS, FRANZCR, FAANMS) completed his medical degree in 1991 at the University of Melbourne followed by an internship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He undertook radiology training in Tasmania at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

He then completed his first year of training in Nuclear Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne before completing his final year of training at the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.

He then worked for four years at the University of Missouri and the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia, Missouri before returning to Tasmania.

Gavin lives in Hobart and also works part-time with BreastScreen Tasmania. He is a member of the RANZCR’s Clinical Radiology Workforce Committee and the Committee for Joint College Training in Nuclear Medicine.
