Why Choose Qscan Strathpine

Qscan Strathpine is on Dixon Street, Strathpine. If you live in Strathpine, Bridgeman Downs, Albany Creek or the surrounding Moreton Bay area, your appointment is a short drive from home.

Our Strathpine team provides x-ray, ultrasound, echocardiogram (an ultrasound of your heart), CT, MRI (a scan that uses a strong magnet and radio waves, with no radiation), mammography (a specialised x-ray of the breast), OPG dental x-ray, bone mineral densitometry or DEXA scans and interventional radiology, where imaging guides small procedures. We also take part in the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, which uses low-dose CT to look for early signs of lung cancer in eligible patients referred by their GP.

Your scan is reported by a Qscan radiologist, who sends the findings to your referring doctor. Whether Bulk Billing applies depends on the MBS item number for your scan and your Medicare eligibility, so our team will confirm any costs with you when you book. Book online at qscan.com.au/bookings.

Qscan Strathpine Services

X-ray

X-ray uses a small, controlled amount of radiation to produce images of bones and some soft tissue, and is commonly used to investigate injuries, joint pain and chest conditions. Images are reviewed and reported by our radiologists.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves to create real-time images of the body without the use of radiation. It's performed by our sonographers and reported by our radiologists. Ultrasound appointments are available at our Strathpine clinic in Dixon Street, serving Bridgeman Downs, Albany Creek and surrounds.

Echocardiogram

An echocardiogram is an ultrasound scan of the heart, used to assess heart structure and function. It's performed by our sonographers and reported by our radiologists/cardiologists.

CT Scan

CT scanning uses x-rays and computer processing to produce detailed cross-sectional images of the body, supporting the investigation of a wide range of conditions. CT scans are available at our Strathpine clinic in Dixon Street, serving Strathpine, Bridgeman Downs and Albany Creek.

  • CT calcium scoring - a specific CT scan that assesses calcium deposits in the coronary arteries
  • CT Dentascan - specialised CT imaging to support dental and orthodontic planning

MRI

Qscan Strathpine offers MRI scans, which use magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of soft tissue, joints, the brain and internal organs without the use of radiation.

OPG, Lateral & PA Ceph

An OPG (orthopantomogram) is a specialised x-ray that captures a single image of the upper and lower jaw, teeth and surrounding structures, commonly used for dental and orthodontic assessment.

Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiology covers image-guided procedures - including injections for pain management - performed by our radiologists as directed by your referring practitioner.

Mammography

Mammography is a specific type of x-ray used to examine breast tissue, commonly used as part of breast health assessment.

Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD/DEXA)

A BMD scan is a type of x-ray that measures bone mineral density - used to diagnose osteoporosis, assess fracture risk, and monitor bone density during treatment.

  • DEXA body composition scan - measures the distribution of lean muscle, fat, and bone mass

National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP)

Qscan Strathpine takes part in the NLCSP, offering bulk billed low-dose CT lung screening for eligible patients. Your GP confirms your eligibility, provides a referral, and enrols you in the National Cancer Screening Register before you book your scan - this is a referral-based program, not a walk-in service.
